Green V3 puzzle is an exquisite intermediate puzzle with a difficulty rating of 60 out of 100; it’s a puzzle not to be missed that will provide you hours of amusement and a challenge. In 2010, Wired magazine listed the Green as one of the best ten gifts at the UK Gadget Show.

This is an excellent puzzle and worth every penny I spent on it. I’m still having trouble solving it (mostly due to time-constraints and other puzzles in my collection

The green is certainly a step up in a number of ways. Taking concepts from Blue & Aqua & mixing in ‘new tricks’. These ‘tricks’ are lurking beneath the hood and sniggering at you, tripping you up again and again, whilst refining your mapping of paths & negative space. Be prepared to have your thinking power, patience and dexterity tested here! It pushed me at one point to the brink, some swearing ensued (did not get that with the previous puzzles). Green has surely extended the skill set in preparation for the next puzzle. Having a mental and dexterous tool kit is going to be of value I imagine. Things won’t get any easier I feel. I am almost looking forward to starting another now, but a day off maybe to ‘celebrate’…. Chris…. you were pretty harsh on this one to be honest ! 🙂

The maze itself is fantastic and innovative. Truly a great step between the blue and more difficult puzzles like the bronze. Unfortunately there is a step that was changed between the v1 and the v3 that is now extremely difficult if not impossible to do for some people. Just keep that in mind when ordering this puzzle.

I want to share a story how green became this mystical, impossible to solve puzzle that could very well have served as proof that no matter how many monkeys you throw at a hard problem, all you’ll get is more annoyed monkeys.
It all started out as a meeting of friends and acquaintances for a close friend’s birthday, which transformed into just a nice and long weekend among friends that took place once a year.
I do not remember the point at which it started, it was many years ago, but one day there was this green V2 Revomaze. Everyone tried their hands on it but nobody could solve it. It quickly became a tradition for some to try and attempt to figure it out. Maps were drawn and comparisons were made, but no agreement could be made as to the maze’s actual layout.
Every year the green would be there and every year a handful of people attempted to solve it. Many had long given up, vowing to never touch it again. It had gained this air of mystery, surely the first person to solve it would gain untold recognition and fame fit for royalty.
This green relic had always somehow been an essential part of the gathering. The many years and hands had started to leave their mark on it, as you could almost see a glimpse of the maze when you pushed the core in the wrong direction, yet it held firm and would not give up its secrets without a noble hero solving it first.
This year the green keeper had the idea to fashion an aid to help with gripping and navigating. A piece of wood was quickly affixed to the core, which not only brought some much needed relief for the adventurer’s hands, but it also allowed to move through the maze in much greater precision.
Maps were laid out, many attempted to finally best the green beast but many heroes fell and never recovered.
A young hero kept at it, being fast and flexible in both mind and body they quickly traversed the maze, clashing with the beast again and again, keeping meticulous records of their battles but eventually even their spirits wavered.
Scholars began invoking their magical tablets in the hopes of finding the last clues. The beast could not be bested with all their combined will and sacrifice and a deal with the devil became more tantalising by the minute.
Missing clues as how to exit the maze were uncovered, speaking of a rare alignment of two dots and implementation of brutish methods to open the rusty gates.
The young hero quickly leapt to their feet. “I have seen the two dots!” They exclaimed. The scholars looked at the hero with amazement. “And I can quickly get back there!”
The hero quickly stormed back into the maze as a single scholar spoke incantations of good luck. They quickly made their way through the dark maze and finally found themselves at what they believed to be the end of the maze, but the rusty gates wouldn’t budge. The scholar that had accompanied the hero was shaking in nervousness but still offered the hero to aid. They bashed their hands against the gates, trying both to push and pull and as the pain became almost unbearable the gates quickly and effortlessly swung open.
The hero and scholar shared a moment of stunned silence. Finally, after many years and so many sacrifices, the gates were finally open, ready to reveal the darkest secret of the beast.
“We solved it!”, the scholar remarked flabbergasted.
The other scholars and broken adventurers surrounding them in the hall paid no attention.
Still holding the gates open, the scholar, once again, excitedly proclaimed: “We solved it! It is open!”
Slowly heads started to turn and as the realisation spread across the room the astonishment in everyone’s faces grew. People began jumping over tables to get close to the scholar, quickly praising them – though the scholar was quick to point out that it was indeed the hero who had bested the beast. Murmurs rose about what hidden treasures it might hold as the scholar brought the maze into the light and gazes of the astonished onlookers.
Small pieces of the maze dropped to the floor and a single pin was picked up. While the folks gathered inspected the curious artefact a few scholars began searching for the remaining pieces but would never find them.
Many invocations of magical tables were made to determine how to unlock the hidden treasures that surely, after so many years, had been lying in wait while many previously beaten heroes and scholars inspected the old maze that had been beaten – in more ways than one.
Their search for the elusive treasure though should prove to be unfruitful.
It was a V2 maze.

This was my introduction to Revomazes and this old scholar has finally bested the V3 beast and gotten her overdue reward.
There is a tight spot in the V3 that I don’t quite agree with, but it is solvable, otherwise I would give this 5/5 in a heartbeat.
Using a grip/training aid is highly recommended 🙂

Ein super Puzzle
Grün war mein erstes Revomaze, und ich habe es wie auch beschrieben in der angegebenen Zeit gelöst. Ok, ich benötigte ein wenig länger, ca. 10 Stunden. Am Ende war schon eine fiese Stelle eingebaut.
Ich freue mich schon auf die weiteren Farben.
